I began playing guitar when I was around 12 years old. I played in my first band when I was about 15 years old. I wish I had some photos of that first band, but sadly, I don’t. We called that first band Western Union. I went to Flint after that, with Mickey Jo Slone, and he and I played together for many years. Here’s some history with photos.

My family moved from East Kentucky to Northeast Indiana when I was 10 years old, in 1965. We took the well traveled Route 23, from Kentucky, through Ohio, and ended up in Kendallville, Indiana. It was life changing for me and my family. Here’s a quick look at that. I’ve been working on a book for many years, and hope to finish it one day, Father Yah willing.
